The role of the First Nations in the development of regional forestry economy

Considering the reaffirmation of the on-going engagement made by the First Nations to contribute in the socio-economic development of the forestry regions and to play an active role in the growing Canadian bioeconomy, it is with a great pleasure to have Chief Constant Awashish as the opening keynote speaker,to talk about the role of the First Nations in the development of regional forestry economy.
Mr. Awashish is the Grand Chief of the Conseil de la Nation Atikamekw (CNA), the tribal council uniting the three Atikamekw Nations.
He will be followed by a presentation by John Kozij, Director General of Canadian Forest Service, Natural Resources Canada, on the importance of clean tech innovation in Canada’s Natural Resource Sectors.
